[cobalt-users] RE: couldn't create pid file '/var/run/named.pid'

Stop worrying with this and just ignore it, it's a bug
as previously stated. This topic has been discussed in
depth over a year ago. You can find the discussion in
the archives by searching "Named PID File (can't
create)". It doesn't matter that named couldn't
recreate the pid file, it's already there. A reload of
your DNS when making changes via the GUI doesn't need
to change the pid file in the first place, so just
ignore it.

Why? This would just kill the running named process.
Once named is restarted and additional DNS changes are
made, you'll still see the same message in your logs.
Ignore it, it means nothing of importance. We all have
the same message showing up in our logs when we make
changes to DNS records if we've changed BIND to run as
user 'named' -nothing more or less, just ignore it.
