[cobalt-users] RE: couldn't create pid file '/var/run/named.pid'

I replied to Graeme...

Now I've checked /var/run for the named.pid and there it is the user & group
settings are both at named. The file was already set at named:named prior to
running the commands above.

Anyway we'll see how we go with that as I several other new sites to add
later on today.

Then...

After making the changes as suggested, I created a new account including the
DNS entries...

Jan 20 15:17:28 ns named[30265]: master zone "79.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa" (IN)
loaded (serial 2002012015)
Jan 20 15:17:28 ns named[30265]: master zone "xxxxxxxxxxx.com" (IN) loaded
(serial 2002012015)
Jan 20 15:17:28 ns named[30265]: couldn't create pid file
'/var/run/named.pid'
Jan 20 15:17:28 ns named[30265]: Forwarding source address is [0.0.0.0].4986

Same thing couldn't create the file :<

So what's the next step delete the named.pid from /var/run as you suggested
earlier
