Thank you! :)

Not taken as flames or arguments. This is a "discussion" which probably
should have had a long time ago... :) And if there are things about our
products or policies that aren't clear, please do bring them up. Better
to get a real answer than circulate a bunch of rumors or "I think this
is what it means" info... A lot of stuff I might not be able to provide
a "real" or "satisfactory" answer for myself, but I can try to get the
appropriate info from someone who can.
And my only point originally was to remind people, or make them aware if
they weren't already, of the License Agreement. Cobalt Networks had to
take legal action against several ISPs in the past who were providing
RaQ4-OS-on-RaQ3 servers, or worse yet porting the UI to generic Linux
boxes. When their customers called Cobalt for support, the harsh truth
was discovered...
Also, because I just got back from our holiday shutdown and answered
several emails at once, the resulting "message" about license violations
was a lot "stronger" than I intended it to be.
What you do with our servers for your own personal use is up to you. But
if you are planning to provide non-standard configurations for "public"
use like hosted servers, be aware. It is illegal and we have
successfully won in court against violaters in the past. Also, since
this is a Sun-sponsored/hosted list, we cannot condone illegal
activities with our products. I will try to bite my tongue a little
more in the future, but I _am_ obligated to inform customers of
potential legal problems, etc when I "see" them. :)
