RE: [cobalt-users] Re: RaQ XTR always boots to ROM mode

The XTR's recall was a well kept secret, for some reason it didn't get put out on the wire.

Well as far as I can remember it was either a refund or a switch to 2 x RaQ4r's, but I think Sun will now replace it with an XTR, but I do not know what the lead time is, or where the web address to get the unit back is within Sun's massive website.

Does anybody else know where the web address is, perhaps one of the brilliant Cobalt techies that always read things here.:-)

No, it has not been back to Sun. The first one I ordered (March) would not
even boot at all. This one is a replacement (delivered April) and it *has*
rebooted successfully in the past, but will not now.

I found out about the recall only yesterday while researching this problem.
And I found out about it only via the lists like this...nothing from Sun
Cobalt. I'll look for someone at Sun to call about the recall on Monday, but
does anyone have any experience with the XTR recall? Refund? Replacement?
How long it takes? Who to contact? Etc?

Thanks!
