AT&T Broadband is trying to buy the Excite network assets (not the portal 
assets) through the bankruptcy to keep AT&T customers online. In many 
markets they are close to being able to switch customers to their own 
hastily built infrastructure if necessary. There may be some long downtime. 
And @home email addresses would change to @attbi.com. Maybe without much 
notice.
