Hi,
I created a virtual web site and a user account to use
ftp to upload files into this site, for example,
www.test.com, and user name "test".
I am using WS_FTP to upload files. And this is what I
did test:
If I login "test" account, then upload files into
/home/sites/www.test.com/users/test/web, and then run
http://www.test.com, I got a default cobalt site which
contains Personalize Your Home Page, Site Management
Access, and Personal Account Management.
If I login "admin" account, then upload files into
/home/sites/www.test.com/web, then from
http://www.test.com, still got the same cobalt site as
above. However, If typing in like
http://www.test.com/index.htm, I got what I want. If I
name index.htm to index.html, then from
http://www.test.com/index.html, still cobalt site. If
I name index.htm to default.asp, then type in
www.test.com/default.asp, I got right site.
I did read RaQ2 manual on the Internet, but still need
to figure out how to set up more virtual sites.
Now, my questions are:
1. It is easy to create a virtual site and user
accounts for this site, but when you upload files into
this site, should I use these user accounts or
administrator account?
2. As I said above, for either user account or
administrator account to upload files, is it right
directory to load files in?
3. I don't want users using like
www.test.com/index.htm, just like normal searching web
site like www.test.com, but some sites default
document is index.html, index.htm, default.asp,
main.htm, and so on,how to configure to return the
default page?
Please help, and thank you so much.
Shawn Xu
