Re: [cobalt-users] Re: Terrible mail failure problem

Is it best to have a REVERSE entry for your main domain on your
server on just domain.com or with a host added like www.domain.com
 or does it matter?

It depends. If your ISP delegates authority for reverse lookups to you,
a PTR record for your host should be set up. If they don't delegate, you
can set up all the PTR records you want but nobody will ever see/access
them. :)

I have two Class C's and they are delegated to me.

If your ISP *does* delegate, you should set your PTR to point to
www.domain.com, not just domain.com. PTR records are used to map
addresses to *host* names for a given network.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure since I was thinking the reverse DNS was more for the domain. Now I know.

Also, how can I make my RaQ4i host web sites on BOTH Class C's? Is it even possible to multihome on the RaQ4i?
