Yes, from source.  rpm might work, I just prefer installing things from
source b/c I like the control, even though that means for some things it's
considered the hard way.

Impossible to say.  I suggest asking someone from Cobalt professional
services, hopefully the person that did it for you.  If they installed from
source they could have deleted the source when they were done, if they
installed from rpm the same could be true about the rpm.
