check the permissions on your aliases file
it could be that somebody "tightened" security :)
They should all be (-rw-r--r--) if not chmod 644 them.
Also all files except (helpfile and trusted-users {on a RaQ4} should be
bin:bin) should be chown and chgrp as root. (or chown root:root, for those
of you who like to make comments afterwords :P)
