Re: [cobalt-users] DNS and/or Routing Problem

Thank you, gsh, for your helpful reply. In the meantime, I've read many of the
archived posts here, and managed to "sort of fix" some of the stuff. For
example, the parent domain name now works for the web and email services with
both the www. and without the www. The other domain on the machine (domain
registered but no pages yet, just the RAQ welcome page) works with the "www"
page call and www. email address, but both of this second domain's services
won't work without the www addressing.

Both name servers are registered. Primary name server is traceable, but the
secondary is not. Do I need to add a separate address for it in addition to
the info I entered into the initial raq setup for primary and secondary name
servers? The secondary name server is the one that traceroute gives
"connection refused" error.

And yes, if this is a connection problem upstream, I too am discouraged by my
company's lack of 24 hour service -- haven't run into that so far during my
internet years (6). Further, the one tech who did try to help managed to
change something so that the parent domain no longer was served at all -- only
the second domain worked! Took me a lot of reading to bring things to their
current, imperfect state. To date, this company's support service doesn't rate
at all.

As for the other assigned IP addresses, currently they are not listed in the
RAQ DNS panel -- took them all off some days ago when I first realized this
dns problem existed in order to simplify defining it. Will re-enter them and
try again. Thank you for the information.

Could you suggest a method to get the second domain working with both www and
without www for web and email service? Have tried every combination I could
find in the lists, but so far, nothing does the trick. Again, thank you for
your help. I really do appreciate it.
