Thanks for the response, and this is somewhat off topic, but are you the
first to reply? Did my posting only just now show up?
Regarding your response - I'm fairly certain that since this hard drive
was not sold as a stand alone "retail" drive, but rather was included in
an OEM product (i.e. the Cobalt), that Seagate won't honor any warranty
other than yours (Sun/Cobalts).
That being said, if I have to go it alone and get a new one myself, any
recommendations or cautions on the type of hard drive I can install? And
will the recovery OS disc work ok if the capacity of the new HDD is
roughly the same as the one that I'm going to pull out of it?
