Multiply $20 or more x 30 or 40 domains and you're starting to talk serious
money.

Since you're still with them, you haven't received fraudulent bills for
domains no longer registered with them.
As I said, I'm sure larger companies just pay them without question. Their
representative who called me seemed "mystified" as to why I would still be
getting a bill for domains that were transferred to another registrar months
before.
