RE: [cobalt-users] User Migration

How many users are you talking about. You'll learn quick that the Cobalt has
it's own way of doing things and to even attempt to get these users into
it's hidden structure will cost you more time than setting up these users
from the web GUI. There is a majordomo fix it file I found a couple of days
ago browsing around that is supposed to fix (resetup) majordomo and build
the necessary majordomo domains for you. But I have never used it, I am a
long time FreeBSD user and a newbie Cobalt user. I am trying to transfer
from that FreeBSD and doing it all the 'Cobalt Way'.

I can't get to the link right now, it seems it is not responding. At least
for me, the link is http://www.baltimoremd.com/cobaltfacts/sitelist.html.
The majordomo fix is not on this site, it is at one of the links on this
site. If you need it and can't find it, contact me directly after the site
cames back and I'll show it to you.

Thanks:)

Subject: [cobalt-users] User Migration

Hi,

I recently moved all my user accounts from an aging Linux box to a Raq4.
This was done by merging the password files, copying the user directories
and them moving the mail files. Everything worked fine...sort of. The
accounts work, users can POP their mail. However, a couple problems have
come up. First users don't appear in the cobalt user list through the web
interface. This is going to cause long term management issues. Also,
majordomo doesn't work. I'm not sure this is related but it appears the
virtual domain info doesn't get passed to majordomo. Mail sent in the form
list-name@domain gets rejected as unknown user. Yet, you can sent mail to
majordomo@domain and it works.

If you have any advice please respond directly as well. I really need to get
all this resolved before school starts.

TIA,

Jon
