Re: [cobalt-users] analog problem

Greetings again. I was trying Davis, Carrie and James instructions on
configuring analog for my coblat box, all went fine expect when the
report.html was viewed on IE all I see is the following ........looks like
code but not html. Does anyone know why?

Hi Ho,

It looks like you are using the default config file for you Cobalt Box. The output it creates is called if I am not mistaken, COMPUTER code. You need the HTML output version. What you will need to do if you have not already done so (to keep from breaking the box stats) is to make a copy the anaolg.cfg file in /etc in your domain web space. Then you will need to refer to this config file for the creation of your stats. You might also want to try Analog's home page for instructions on setting up the report for HTML.

I just got off my butt and checked, you will need to make sure that roughly line 12 should read 'OUTPUT HTML' in the analog.cfg file.

	Hope this helps.

	The crunchy bit to run analog in my case is:

/usr/local/sbin/analog +g${userdir}/.analog.cfg -a +O$outfile +F${startdate} +T${datestr}

Where $userdir is the path to the .analog.cfg file I modified from /etc and $startdate is the date at which to start analyzing stats for this session and finally $datestr is the end date.

I have my config files available for anyone who is interested. Either email me offlist or I can post on the list if that is allowed or I can put it on my website for easy downloading if that is better. It is about the crudest piece of code available, but it is simple to use and works as long as you don't put it in crontab (next update).
