Are you trying as root or as another user. Maybe the user does not have
read permissions on the database.

Hi,
I am getting a corrupt database when doing a locate - I have tried
re-running the cron slocate.cron job but this hasn't fixed it.
error is similar to:
[root@web cron.daily]# locate something
locate: decode_db() aborted. Corrupt database?
should I delete the database and then run the slocate.cron script ? - if
so
what file should I delete ?
Can't find this error in the archives or an answer in google
cheers
