Good move; the GUI overwrites manual changes in order to respect the GPL.

sort of endeavor).
No one else does; you're no busier than anyone else (and likely less busy than some dynamos around here). People will answer questions happily, up to a point. Not getting off your ass to do some simple research and wasting others' time is *not* going to make you popular, even if you're otherwise a welcome member of the community. 

Make the time. End of story.
