Here are the entries from maillog when I try to send the mail from the Cobalt
shell command line.
May 10 19:48:22 cobalt sendmail[5343]: f4B0mMA05343: to=newt@xxxxxx,
delay=00:00:00, mailer=local, pri=0, dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown
May 10 19:48:27 cobalt sendmail[5343]: f4B0mMA05343: from=admin, size=0,
class=0, nrcpts=1, relay=root@localhost
The email should be directed to the server mail.ky.net but it is not.
I have looked at the MX records and they are correct. The Cobalt server
properly looks to our default DNS server when I run nslookup.
While trying to figure out why this was happenning, I decided to set up DNS
info locally so that the Cobalt would not have to look elsewhere for the MX
records. Seting up DNS on the Cobalt did not change anything. So I remove the
entries and turned off the local DNS. The Cobalt is once again properly
pulling DNS records from our primary DNS. I can add the DNS back to the Cobalt
if someone can show me that it would help anything, but from my testing, it
does not seem to make any difference.
