I have no idea what setup information I gave that would benefit a hacker. Everything I said is readily
available information to anyone - especially anyone who I have ever given a business card to. We publicize
our web address everywhere we can and it is easy to figure out that it is currently on a Cobalt server. The
only other info I gave was my test email address which is also available from many different places. If you
look at this message, you can hopefully also easily figure out what my more commonly used email address is
(ie the one I use on my business cards).
Anyway, I still need help resolving the issue outlined in my original message. The Cobalt insists on trying
to verify the outgoing email addresses locally even though the MX records correctly point to a totally
separate mail server. I have searched this mailing list's archives and it seems like others have run into
this in the past, but I have been unable to find any real answers in the replies. Via the web
administration, I have told the Cobalt to only handle email for one domain, but it wants to look for users
locally for all domains for which it hosts websites. Why is it doing this?
