[cobalt-users] Cobalt Racks / what the hell is this?/ RaQ4 to RaQ3

I changed the thread because I have a lot to add.
I received the same message today. I give up on them.
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND COBALTRACKS. Not even to an enemy or rival company.
Here's why:
1. RaQ4i had a 350CPU when I first got it. All the complaints from all users
had them move the hard drives to another RaQ4i box that did show the correct
information.
2. We were told that Cable and Wireless was the cause of their SEVERELY SLOW
and sometimes down network issues.
3. We were told that UUNET connections were going to up in January of this
year, here it is April / May.
4. Now we are being told that they are waiting for another data provider.
(No UUNET?)
5. I have more complaints 24 hours a day from my users than with any company
I have used before.
6. Now they want me to provide them a list what I am using IP numbers for
that I am paying for.
I am currently in a planned move to another service. I am going to downgrade
from the RaQ4i to a RaQ3 just to be in the ballpark of the same price, this
doesn't include extra bandwidth charges I am going to get with the new
service.
I also stopped them from accessing my CC for this month's Payment. Got a
nice EXPECTED notice today that I have 48 hours to respond to them for
alternative payment.
I'll work around that one somehow.
I sent out a server wide email to all my users on all domains and have
received more gratitude for moving than I expected even though most of the
web site data has to be put on to the RaQ3 manually. The migration utility
doesn't work from a RaQ4 > RaQ3 from what I have read :(
If it does, or there is another solution, please let me know.
We have all heard this before on this list
Bottom line: you get what you pay for! In the case of Cobalt Racks, I feel I
got less and my users suffered from the nice attractive features that they
say they have, but never produced.
Thanks
Kevin

Hi,
Our IP's are being checked (audited) by ARIN. We must justify the IP
usage
to ARIN or we may lose IP's. If we lose the IP's we might not be able
to
provide some services to you, Cobalt Racks customers (one of our major
competitors recently lost a big part of their IP allocation).
As you know, there is a shortage of IP's worldwide. Please help us to
keep
the IP's and provide services for you. This is what we need:
- Complete list of all your IP's
- Complete list of ALL DOMAINS on EACH IP.
We count on your support. This information is confidential and goes
only to
ARIN, which is a non-profit organization.
Please send this back by Friday, May 4, 2001. WE MUST HAVE THIS
INFORMATION!
Please send the list to ipadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you.
