Nico,
I think you may have missed the message here. Bandwidth costs money and
providers are in business to make money. None will supply you unlimited
bandwidth for a fixed amount if the fixed amount does not cover their costs
and provide them with a profit.
Having said that, with one of our companies we offer unlimited bandwidth for
virtual sites on the servers. We do not monitor the individual site nor
care how much any one site uses.
This is not a contradiction, we simply limit the amount of bandwidth each
server can use. We know that the total usage for each server will never be
more than 100 gig per month and price accordingly. We don't bother
monitoring site usage, as the total of all site can never exceed 100 gig per
month.
And yes, we explain this in the FAQ, if the client bothers to read the FAQ.
Most don't.
Frankly we have found that the average site uses 200-300 megs per month, so
this is not much of a problem. And we have hundreds of sites that use less
than 100 meg a month, so this covers for the high usage sites on those
servers.
But it comes down to the reality being you get what you pay for, as was
stated by Brent.

You see, we do agree (we might put it differently, but hey?). That's why
I've chosen a provider which provides me with bandwidth and couldn't care
less how many gb's I run thru their lines. And yes, that is expensive.
Have a good weekend... Nico
