Arnis,

Like you, this SMTP problem has been with me since I got the Qube 3. I
installed all the updates including OS 6.1 in the hopes that this would fix
the SMTP latency issue - but it made no difference.

This is the worst issue for my setup. I could live without file-sharing
altogether if the mail servers would work properly. :-(

Perhaps others will post their experiences with the Qube 3's SMTP service
and we can get an idea if others have this problem or if it relates to our
working in a WinNT environment.
