We have managed to create a "catch-all" alias (ie:
anything@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx goes to person X). Note that on our RAQ4i, we
split WWW and MAIL (for a domain name) into two seperate virtual sites.
Example DNS settings:
domain.net.au -> 203.xx.xx.xxx (RAQs IP)
ftp.domain.net.au -> 203.xx.xx.xxx (RAQs IP)
mail.domain.net.au -> 203.xx.xx.xxx (RAQs IP)
www.domain.net.au -> 203.xx.xx.xxx (RAQs IP)
domain.net.au ... mail is sent to the Low priority ... mail
serversecondary.mail.server
domain.net.au ... mail is sent to the High priority mail server ...
mail.domain.net.au
mail.domain.net.au ... mail is sent to the High priority mail server ...
mail.domain.net.au
www.domain.net.au ... mail is sent to the High priority mail server ...
mail.domain.net.au
Then create a virtual site for mail.domainname.com.au with the following:
hostname: mail
domain name: domainname.net.au
web server alias: leave blank
email server alias: domainname.net.au
Then create a virtual site for www.domainname.com.au with the following:
hostname: www
domain name: domainname.net.au
web server alias: leave blank
email server alias: leave blank
OK - now you have your sites setup. To create the catchall alias:
Add a new user for the virtual site: mail.domainname.net.au, and give them
the following alias: "@mail.domainname.net.au" (without the quotes)
Then give the Site Administrator for the WWW virtual site
(www.domainname.net.au) the following alias: @www.domainname.net.au - and it
works!
