Perhaps it might be that some of us(and I will point the finger at myself)
need to learn more about the search function in the archives. I try NOT
to ask a question until I've looked, but quite frankly I find the archives
to be very, very cumbersome.
I am probably spoiled by some of the web-based forums that actually
display headers of all the messages in a thread, usually from oldest to
newest. Unlike the Cobalt archive, you can actually start at the
beginning of an adventure and follow it to the end.
I have even seen some people actually include keywords such as solved,
fixed and resolved in the subject line. That's kind of handy for us
search-impaired folks...you can actually search on something like
raq4 and catchall and resolved(fixed, solved)

I'm sure it's very frustrating. If I knew more, I'd develop a faq of some
of the more common things that are asked, but sometimes I'm hard pressed
to sort out the "This might work", "I haven't tried it myself" and the
ever present "search the archives" from the definative answers.
Hopefully someone who truly understands how easy it is to find the answers
in the archives can share the most efficient method...as when I read
people saying it only takes 10 minutes, and I wade through it for much
longer than that, I do feel kinda dumb.
