Linux novie...maybe toddler, but was responsible enough to buy the Silver
Support package. Have a Raq 3 that is not totally up to date on the pkgs but
was working just fine for hosting web and mail for our three domains.
Product still handles mail and web for all domains just fine from 99.9% or
the locations around the world.
The problem is, for some reason - users cannot get mail from our other
location. They can see the website hosted on the same box and can send mail
to the box...just no POP (or Telnet I have found out though I can on the
local LAN). At first I thought perhaps on of our ISPs may have
inadvertantely blocked port 110 or something similar, but I can dial and
earthlink account for example and pick up the mail just fine (from all
domains).
My last thought was perhaps the Raq was blocking a particular IP range which
was the one at second location. Again, I'm sorry about my Linux noviceness -
but is there a command sequence to telnet in the pop mail app see if this is
the case...or am I way off.
The only non-cobalt installation is PopBefore relay...which they led me to.
In the subsequent support call, they asked me to remove it and run all the
patches, hell - I'm not even sure how to remove it.
Thanks to all.
