RE: [cobalt-users] Raq3 patch support needed



I'm going to suggest, if anyone installed the Bind update PKG on
a raq3, that you take a careful look and make sure you're not
still running the old BIND even though the interface registers
the update installed correctly.

This update worked fine for me on a 3i and a 4, but when I put it
on a brand new 3, it didn't take. I restarted the service via GUI
and telnet, rebooted the whole box, and it's still running the
dud BIND. The package wouldn't uninstall, nor would it
re-install.

Basically, if you just installed the PKG and figured all was
fine - don't be reassured just because the update is on your
installed list. Take a peek at your messages log, and make sure
8.2.2-p5 isn't the BIND that's starting. If it is, you're still
vulnerable.
