Not stupid, just ignorant.  And you're operating on the incorrect assumption
that all clients are capable of learning from their mistakes.  My company's
average end user is a 52-year-old housewife with a third-grade reading
comprehension level.  On new software installation trips, our personnel
regularly have to teach new users how to use a mouse.

Given this, it helps us to have a catchall so we can get as much of their
blindly-flailing email as possible.  YMMV.
