My RaQ 4i is not yet in production, but while playnig with it I have
problems with the Telnet service.
First, when I look to the System status page and click on Telnet, I get:
The Telnet Server has been running normally since Mon 29 Jan 2001 10:30:05
AM CET
Well I know this is not true. I just rebooted the server and restarted the
service several times. Is this a bug or a feature, or is this information on
the webpage just entirely useless?
Second, Most of the times I cannot telnet into the box. Every day I have to
restart the telnet service. Even I do not plan to use Telnet when it is in
production, it seems strange to me that this service is not working properly
on a box I have not yet done anything serious on... Am I the only one having
this problem? The maintenance->install software page lists this installed
software:
Relational Database Server and Client tools by InterBase. Release V6.0
Cobalt OS Release 6.0
RaQ4-en-Security Release 0.0.1-6453
Should I install patches (no I do not use the box for DNS, I think DNS and
web servers should be on different boxes :-)
