Before I get contacted by lawyers and am told that my freedom of speech is
being squelched by lawsuits and gag orders, I'd like to let everyone know
the experience I just had.
I was just called on the phone by John Baine, "Head Surfer" of EV1.Net - the
parent company of Rackshack.Net.
He was demanding an apology for "slandering" his company in the post that I
sent here to the list last night.
I refused. The things I said are my opinion, my experience - and my FREEDOM
OF SPEECH.
I told him if he is such a big company (he was throwing around profit
figures that EV1.Net makes and trying to threaten me by saying they have
three separate law firms on retainer), then why is he so worried about what
a little person like me is saying about them? I told him to make his own
post to the list refuting what I had said. He refused. I told him this was
because the people on the list could go to the site and see for themselves
what the TRUTH was.
This man proceeded to use terms like "I am gonna SLAM you SO hard", he vowed
that I would spend at least $100,000 defending myself in court over this,
and he was going to "take me to the cleaners".
I happily informed him to go right ahead, I didn't have $100,000 and I would
take it all the way to the Supreme Court if I had to... because my opinion
is called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
He said all kinds of things, finally telling me "You are the biggest BITCH
on the face of this earth."
To which I replied "Thank you. At least I'm HONEST."
So you guys make what you want of this man and his company, and make your
own decisions about whether or not you want to solicit his business. Those
are YOUR opinions, and YOUR decisions... just like what I have seen and
experienced are MY opinions and MY decisions... and I am free to relate that
opinion anytime I want to, to whomever I so please.
He's going to sue me with 3 different law firms for giving my opinion about
his company on a mailing list, rather than come onto the mailing list
himself and refute my letter or even explain his company's actions.
But yet I'm the bitch.
