Your choice, Gerald <smile>. I've got no problem; I use them all the
time. In fact it was my research that got the support into the Brosoft
package, I think.

Two points:
1. That's only a 40-bit cert. Thawte's 128-bit cert is $300.
Equifax's 128-bit cert is $99. Yes, they've raised the price again.
It's still a bargain, though.
2. I only charge us$100/hour.

And their cert will be a two-step cert as well. For a very important
reason. They're NOT recognized by every browser out there as a cert
vendor, so the only way they can get their certs recognized as as a
two-step cert. Since people will continue to use old browsers even if
and when the new browsers do recognize Equifax certs (many of the newest
browsers do) and Tucows certs, the two-step method is the ONLY way to
break the hold on Thawte and Verisign.
One more point. When Verisign bought Thawte was when Thawte stopped
selling 128-bit certs for $100 and started selling 40-bit certs for
$125. I bet they didn't even tell you it wasn't a 128-bit cert, did
they?
It's okay for you to continue to support the monopoly that keeps the
prices high, as long as you know that's what you're doing.
