OK. First off, do not bad-mouth a product or service of another company
just because you could not figure out "how to use it".
If you would have RTFM first, you would know that Equifax is a chained
CA, therefore the requirement of the intermediate CA certificate.
If you knew the first thing about SSL and Apache, there's only three
lines needed (only one is additional to a standard setup) to have
Apache up and running with a chained CA cert:
SSLCertificateFile /path/to/secure.domain.com.cert
SSLCertificateKeyFile /path/to/secure.domain.com.key
SSLCACertificateFile /path/to/intermediate.ca.cert **
Not to burst your bubble, but most likely Tucows will also be a
chained CA and require an intermediate CA cert - same thing as
Equifax. Also, Equifax certs are only $68 if you make a simple call a
request to be a "reseller", Tucows certs are $99 to resellers. Since
your so "hip" on Tucows, that's almost 6 free OSRS domain years for
the first Thawte cert year, and 3 free domain years for every renewal
of your Thawte cert.
Gee, I just installed 10 Equifax certs for clients ... you do the math.
Finally, Jeff offered you his words of wisdom, then his services if you
couldn't figure it out on your own. Again, no reason for the smart
remark onlist because you couldn't "cut 'n paste". Oh, and $200/hr is
NOT expensive for a tech that truly knows what they're doing.
