The program I am installing is phpMyAdmin  (http://phpwizard.net/)

The program works very well except that the magic_quotes issue causes problems
with sql file dumps.

The program support archives refer to my problem and some have had success
with the .htaccess file arranged as you originally described.. some have not.
I have tried again exactly as you suggested, and as Arnt suggested as well ...
and with  other syntax  from the support group.

Still no success. .. same message.

"Warning: You haven't enabled magic_quotes_gpc in your PHP configuration.
PhpMyAdmin needs this to work properly. "

I intend now to reinstall the entire program... retrace all my steps to make
sure I`m not missing something fundamental, then post back.
