Not too hard, I think. This is something that is to be configured from the
mail client that is used to retireve the account. I belive that it only
works for either pop3 or imap acocunts... not both. Some where inthe setup
for the account such optiojs should exists. Let me see if I could do it
with this outlook express that I have here...

Select: Tools > Accounts...
Find the account for the mail that you're setting up
What I'm looking at here is a pop3 account
Highlight that account and select Properties
Choose the Advanced tab and at the bottom of that sheet you'll see the
options that you want to play with...
