the domain is in the soa. obvious or?
Well, yes. acnsnet.com, right? The problem I was raising is if this
is the domain with the pop problem and does it have a web site tagged
to it? Is it www.acnsnet.com? Or the "acns-on-line" site you have? On
the Raq3, pop is tagged to a web site so this actually can be
important.
What does the GUI's dns screen say about the domain?
anyway, the cobalt systems seem to
not need any mx records if the system is setup the way I'm informed of. To
say it is apparently not an mx issue (something I have never heard of, and I
have been with bind since 4.03) . Is what I'm hearing bs or what. I
couldn't believe it myself but I thought I would ask before I shot off my
mouth.
No, I'm with you. I've never heard of any pop server not needing mx records.
Usually, on the Raq3, pop is set to the specific web site (with its
users) and the mx is set domain to domain (no hostname). You can set
the site to receive email for that domain and then all users on that
site will receive their email at the address: user@xxxxxxxxxx
That's the usual way Raq email is set up. (shrug)
At any rate, you might try to do an mx record for the pertinent site
through your GUI and then check to make sure the specific site has
been added to your "receive mail" list (in the dns section of the
GUI's control panel section). See if that helps at all.
