A couple of things to check:
In the DNS record for the domain, the MX record looks like this:
domain.com --> www.domain.com
In the Email Server Parameters, domain.com is set up in both Host
Domains/Aliases and Relay For The Following Domains box.
In the Site Settings, email alias is set up as domain.com rather than
www.domain.com.
And just a simple basic thing, that you're sending mail to the user's alias
rather than the username itself. You might have user joe set up, but his
alias is joe.smith@xxxxxxxxxxx  Change the joe.smith to joe down in the
aliases box.

Best thing to do is rip out the email alias and email server settings all
together, then go do the settings in Email Server first. After saving
changes (for both email server and the whole control panel) *then* go to
Site Settings and put in the domain.com email alias and save those changes.

Things are a little funky on the RaQ4 from what I've read, some people have
to do things in a specific order in order to get it to work right.
As for your second problem, I can't help you there, but maybe if you get the
first problem fixed it will fix the second one.
