I have this same problem, well, sort of. www.domain.com is not missing, but
here is the problem I experience.
I want mail to come to something@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx instead of
something@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Easy enough, I go to CONTROL PANEL, EMAIL
PARAMATERS, and then in the Host/Domain Aliases, I know the fix is to add
the person's domain WITHOUT the WWW. ex... add... somedomain.com.
Easy enough, but I noticed the changes would not take. I would add
somedomain.com and click on save changes.... but it would not show up there.
I was beating my head against the wall when I had a bright idea!!
I have never fully understood the function of the box 'Email Server Aliases'
when adding a new domain. I add the domain without the www generally, but
have never known what the heck it does. Well, I figured out what it does.
It creates a BUG! Yep, it seems that when the prompt for EMAIL SERVER ALIAS
is filled in, you are not able to save changes to this same domain in
CONTROL PANEL, EMAIL PARAMATERS, HOST/DOMAIN ALIASES.
I found that I could go to Site management, and click on the domain's site
settings, and clear the box for Email Server Alias, and then I go back to
CONTROL PANEL, EMAIL PARAMATERS; HOST/DOMAIN ALIASES, and I am able to add
the domains without the www, and the change took.
Obviously another bug on the RaQ4. I have found the RaQ4 to be more 'buggy'
than my RaQ3. Frontpage problems, permissions problems, ASP problems, Email
Problems..... Oivay. I still love the RaQ4 but it has kept me busy!
Oh, and a bit off topic concerning Cobalt's patches---- I wait days,
sometimes weeks before I install them. I monitor the lists closely to watch
for feedback. Sometimes the patches are worse than the problem they are
supposed to fix. It's frustrating.
