It is with sadness that I read the demise of your willingness to allow
RaQBaQ to be distributed under a free software license.
You have to be prepared to receive plenty of email from this list,
whether supportive, indifferent or downright rude since a large number
of the subscribers want software that WORKS, NOW.

Folks: if you have sent criticisms to Avi, whether founded or not,
consider this: would *you* be willing to put in the time, energy and
persistence to begin to create something like he has?

Would you be willing to receive a bunch of emails telling you that your
 software is rubbish?

 Probably not, on both counts.

Think about this: Apache is free. BIND (your DNS software) is free.
ProFTP is free. All have, or have had bugs at some point. They probably
all still have as yet to be discovered bugs, gotchas and problems. We
 will still use them.

The important thing to grasp here is not to criticise the authors of
said software, but to support them by either pointing the bugs out or
*even better* fixing them first, then telling.

Avi: don't be disheartened. If you go closed, you'll never develop the
code as much as you want.
List: be supportive. If it breaks, fix it - or at least be prepared to
 help Avi do so.

 Just my 2p / 3.20cents :)

I do not have the time or patients to entertain every single persons
requests. If there was a bug we fixed it. The software will run on an
out-of-the top system and I am sorry if you use something other than /24 in
your ip, or if you installed ssl as your main site or anything else that you
have done to your machine to not agree with our software, but we released
around 1 week ago. We are not miracle workers. This is free and we can't work
on it all day around here.

We have it a try to help people and give out free software, but I now know
what to expect.

There are people emailing us all day about it, and they don't releaize they
are not the only ones, nor do they realize that we don't have software that
will tell us every previous email they sent us so we know EXACTLy who they
are or EXACTLy what they said.

If I EVER decide to redistribute this software, it will not be through this
cobalt list, and we are going to act just as cobalt does. CLOSED SOURCE
SOFTARE. You will have to wait for an update from us and we will simply put
your suggestions in a queue until we want to get around to it.

Avi.
