Sounds like they have procedures in place which have nothing to do with
humans or customers.
I had a similar issue with a hosting company I was with. Admittedly I
was wrong. I had a cash-flow problem and was behind. We had an
agreement, and I was paying on that agreement and slowly catching up.
Cash flow temporarily got worse, and I was a bit behind in my agreement,
but still was making payments, still owed a lot less than in my worst
day, and still was in touch with billing on a daily basis. One day the
CEO of the company decided he wanted all his money that day.
He called and during the call, shut me off. He said I'd stay off until
I gave him the money.
I did, right then, on a credit card. I was back up in five minutes.
And I closed our $1,500/month account the end of the month.
