[cobalt-users] errors rotating logs

Hello everyone,
Before I go totally insane I hope someone can help. I have been scouring
the posts for the last few days to try and resolve my problem, but I
cannot find a resolution.
Every morning I recieve 2 emails stating the following:
Email 1
errors occured while rotating /var/log/xferlog 
Failed to open /home/sites//logs/ftp.log: No such file or directory 
error running prerotate script -- 
leaving old log in place 
Email 2
errors occured while rotating /var/log/maillog 
Failed to open /home/sites//logs/mail.log: No such file or directory 
error running prerotate script -- 
leaving old log in place 

I have tried many suggestions such as server reboot, reload OS3, delete
files and use touch to recreate, stop & restart httpd.conf etc etc. but
none have worked.

The access log seems to rotate but doesn't update the virtual sites
web.log file. And I have therefore lost stats since 5 Sept.

If anyone can help I will be eternally grateful.
