Not using a "subject" is annoying as well.

Not everyone reads posts in order, or in my case, receives them in order. On
this list, I often receive a reply to a post before I receive the original
post. IMO, it is common courtesy to answer questions inline so anyone
reading the post can understand what your answer is in reply to.
It also makes for less text necessary for the reply as the question is there
to read more like a conversation.
