I'm not sure what product line the original poster had problems with, but on the
RaQ2 I recommend upgrading binutils to get a more recent version of ld so PHP
won't crash during make. I also recently had a problem where an Apache heeader
file had the wrong location for an SSL file and that crashed PHP during make of
an apxs install. The solution I came up with was to find the problem file and
create a symbolic link in the expected location. And upgrading gcc (or egcs),
libstdc++ and glibc is also a good idea. I believe it's necessary for MySQL. I
believe the RaQ3/4 have newer versions of these programs so it shouldn't be
necesary on those products.
