I'm not sure what product line the original poster had problems with, but
on the
RaQ2 I recommend upgrading binutils to get a more recent version of ld so PHP

file had the wrong location for an SSL file and that crashed PHP during
make of
an apxs install. The solution I came up with was to find the problem file and
create a symbolic link in the expected location. And upgrading gcc (or egcs),
libstdc++ and glibc is also a good idea. I believe it's necessary for
MySQL. I
believe the RaQ3/4 have newer versions of these programs so it shouldn't be
necesary on those products.
I have binutils 2.10
It's the compiler that is producing a Internal error not ld. :-)
btw this is a PRE release compiler. The original binutils and 2.7.2 work
just fine for compiling.
I'm halfway there to having created a Qube OS version that is signficantly
newer then the one supplied. I'm slowly moving through all installed packages.
The 2.4 kernel on the cube should follow in not too long.
Does some one with redhat knowledge have some scripts to build a lot of
packages automatically? I hate to make that much of spec files for rpms :-)
btw the Raq3 and 4 are intel machines. That's no challenge ;-)
