[cobalt-users] Mailing list
Hey all,
I wonder if someone can provide some insight on Sendmail/Majordomo.
The problem is as follows:
I whish to create a a mailing list named all@xxxxxxxxxx - shouldn't be too hard right? Well, it's not possible through the web interface.
The web interface only allows me to create a list named all@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cobalt support gave me the following unsatisfactory answer:
>We are sorry, but it will not be possible to eliminate the hostname portion of
>the machine's address from the "resent from" field for mailing lists using
>supported methods.(The web interface) It may be possible to do it by direct
>editing of the configuration files.
>You may wish to contact our Professional services division. They may be able
>to assist you with this (for a fee). They can be reached at 650-623-2679 or
>on the internet at http://www.cobalt.com/support/services/
I tried making an alias in the /etc/aliases file, but it seems like aliases that expand to multiple receipients are somehow piped through majordomo. How is majordomo called? Is there a way I can disable majordomo?
I'm not experienced with either sendmail nor majordomo although I am reading the Sendmail "bat book" which is rather complex.... to say the least. This was easy with Exchange server!
All help is appreciated.
Thx,
Paul
