I just have a very hard time getting worked up about a switch.

IMNSHO, the best place to measure bandwidth is at the firewall, just
upstream from a simple, affordable and reliable switch.

Even better would be to firewall each of your clients off from each other
on their own dedicated machine, but any Cabal, er Cobalt hoster must have
setup price, rather than TCO as their primary metric, no?
