Gnus.
It runs on Windows (and on a lot of other systems too). It can be
controlled by mouse or (as most daily users prefer) by easy key
"combos".
There's pretty much an "one-key" way to do the most used tasks. For
example:
1. Start Gnus.
2. Press g to get mail/news
3. Use your cursor keys to position over the mailfolder/group you want
to read.
4. Click Enter to enter that group.
5. You'll see a threaded display of messages. Use cursor-keys and
enter to select one for viewing.
6. You can use n repeatably to quickly read through all unread
mail/news.
7. Click R to reply directly to a person.
8. Click F to follow up to the list (a list-reply).
When viewing messages it colors the display, so that cited text are
shown in different colors (according to who wrote that part) - and you
can f.ex. choose another font/color for signatures, etc.
It inserts signatures, does the quoting, handles multiply
personalities, splits your mail into folders according to different
mailing lists, etc.
It has tons of features more than it is possible to mention in this
email. Take a good advice from a person who read/writes a lot of
mail/news (I've posted more than 5000 messages to the USENET) - Gnus
really makes it a lot more efficient and interesting to read
mail/news.
Gnus is probably the only reader that does complete _scoring_ of
articles (not just killing). It "adjusts" to your likings -- it will
learn which posters/subjects you like, and will show these messages
first. It also learns which posters/subjects you do not like, and will
show them last (or not at all).
