RE: [cobalt-users] Help setting up Email for domain

I just got through solving this for my own RaQ3...

First, do you have an A record set up for mail.batcon.com.au, and do you
have that listed as your Mailserver (MX) record target? You do this under
the DNS panel...
To summarize:
You should have A records for:

batcon.com.au
www.batcon.com.au
mail.batcon.com.au

Each A record should point to the IP address of batcom.com.au.

You also need one PTR record for just batcon.com.au. (You can make this when
you make the A record for batcon.com.au by selecting "Automatic Reverse
Address Record Generation". Be sure not to click this box for any of the
other A records...)

Then, you need to add an MX record for batcon.com.au pointing to
mail.batcon.com.au (be sure to type in the whole name of the site, not just
mail, when it asks for Mail Server Name)

Save the changes to the DNS. (Very important. :) )

Next, what you need to do is put www.batcon.com.au and batcon.com.au and
mail.batcon.com.au in your 'Relay For The Following Hosts/Domains' list
(this is in the control panel, under email settings.) I also put in the IP
addresses of the websites in there too.

Save changes to the mail system.

Then, back out to the main Control Panel Screen, and hit 'Save Changes'
again. This stops all the server programs (DNS, Mail, etc) and restarts them
with your new settings.

To check your settings, you can type

nslookup batcon.com.au
and see what your DNS returns for you.
When I did an nslookup on your site, I didn't see an MX record...I know the
RAQ tries to do some kind of automatic mail handling when you select 'Accept
Email for this Site', but not having the MX record might be contributing...

I'm as new to this as you are, though...so maybe the other pros on this list
will chime in.
