[cobalt-users] Dead Qube (2700)

Is there a backdoor?
The Qube's root password reset via the reset button and the index.html was 
changed.
Seems to also missing the /cobalt/sys??? directory as well.
No way to reset password.
I can telnet in as other users, but not as root or su to root. As I can see 
here there is a passwd assigned to root.

Or maybe someone  how to crack this.

Any ideas folks?
