Why do you not want to use the alias method, it's not Cobalt's. If that helps

Just make them users to a site. Bob logs in as "Bob", but he has an alias of
"webmaster".
He can receive mail addressed to "Bob" and he can receive mail addressed to
"webmaster".
Give them a small web page say 1MB, no features!
The User name must be unique, but each user can have the same aliases.

What is wrong with the POP3 GUI? Cobalt does have a POP3 aspect, and you
should use it ():-). Managing one of these servers is a lot of work. Save your
energy!
Use the GUI. Many people get into mucho trouble attempting to circumvent the GUI
