Hi Ian,
Thank you for your help, although I understand things are
going beyond my computer culture.
Regarding the reconfiguration of the Email service, I keep
trying from time to time without success.
I found the log files in the directory you said, except I do
access to the Qube directories with Cute FTP, and even logged as "admin" I
cannot view the file wich attributes say "-rw-------" nor can I change the
attributes, on top of this I do not see what the "less" command might
be.
Regarding the access by "telnet", since I never used such a
software, I shall it try tomorrow.
Considering your last question, I am working on the www
through a 3com ISDN router, that does dial on demand to my ISP. On this side, I
do not experience other problems...
Thank you very much for your support,
Best regards,
Jeff

retrieving on centrilized mailbox fails
Hello Jeff,
Firstly, you will find mail transaction logs in
/var/log on the Qube (use the "less" command to view the files).
However, your problem sounds like a couple of things. Have you checked
your DNS settings? You should have at least your internal domain and the
qube listed here, though, because you can send mail okay I suspect these are
fine. The other thing to try may be to reenter all of you email server
details including passwords into the user interface and make sure your
internet domain (i.e syneric.com) is entered into the "Recieve email
addressed to these domains" dialogue box. I have had mixed problems with
the web interface on the Qube, somtimes it just looses its settings or does
not update them.
Some questions:
Do you have a leased line to your
ISP?
Can you telnet the qube and ping your ISP email
server from there?
Keep trying!!
Ian
