[cobalt-users] AITCOM.net and Spam

Just a quick followup to Dan's post about AIT.
I forwarded the post to Kevin Hagus, who, from my understanding, is #2 at
AIT under Clarence Briggs, who owns the place. He responded almost
immediately (at 130AM!!) and said that he had just been made aware of the
situation by the manager on duty. Apparently only he and Clarence can
delete accounts for TOS violations. He did promise to take action... but I
notice the site is still up.
So... maybe Dan was correct, but my own experience is that AIT has been
pretty vehement in their dislike of SPAM. OTOH, most TOS probably don't
specifically ban the sale of materials *used* for spamming, but instead
only ban the act of spamming (or receiving mail/website hits as a result
of spam), so these folks may, in fact, not be in violation of the TOS.
It would be interesting to see the language of the tier-1 providers. At
some point I may have to take a few minutes and dig this out just for my
own enlightenment.
