i would consider it more secure if you try to make a deal with your
provider to deploy for $30 a second pc (386 does fine) with a tape
drive, not connected to the internet but to your raq via the second nic,
over the provider`s internal lan or, if you don`t have that, to the
serial port.

one disadvantage is, that this backup solution, while being in the same
state, even the same city, would not survive a nuclear icbm attack, as
your actual solution may do (and in fact, the internet was created for
that reason :-) *grin*
